It's been three years since Kogami killed Shogo Makishima and disappeared. Now he's finally returned, but not for anything good. This time, he's investigating the case of Mariko Otori, a former debutante who went missing eight years ago. Now she's back and has caught Kogami's eye. But what will happen when he discovers why she's really returned to Japan? Will Mariko and Kogami be able to overcome their scarred pasts, or will they be left broken-hearted and alone in their search for revenge?
