When Beth and Jerry Smith had their second child, Morty, they decided that two children was enough. Of course, they thought that they could only handle just two, since they were just kids themselves. But what would they do if a young child was dropped off at their doorstep with a note for Jerry, from a woman claiming to know him, also claiming that the child is his? And what could be the reason behind it?

Over the years, the young one grew up to be an intelligent but strange girl with supporting parents and siblings... but not the grandfather, for some unknown reason.
