A simple fanfiction of Batman being involved with The Amazing Digital Circus. And I know that how the 'rules' or 'laws' in the TADC work, involving new people being entered will forget their name and have a different look - as well as no exit (at least, none being known).

But instead of racking my brain to justify why Batman can remember his name and why he still has his normal outfit in this digital world, I'm just going to use the same overused joke that everyone knows: BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN!

There, you happy?

Anyway, this specific Batman is from the Arkham games - post Arkham City, which is going to be somewhat important for Batman as it would explain his mood. I would explain why, but it contains a huge spoiler for Batman Arkham City - and I wouldn't want to spoil it for those who would rather see it themselves. So I'm going to keep it as vague as I could, so that only those who played/seen the game will understand.

You've gotta watch out for the quiet ones and they hardly come quieter than shy but pretty Harleen Quinzel. New to Gotham City, the fledgling psychiatrist is starting her career by assessing new intakes at the infamous Blackgate Prison, a place so dangerous and ugly it makes the rest of Gotham look like a garden in springtime. Clashing immediately with the head doctor, Joan Leland, doesn't help. Let's face it-there's very little in her life to make her smile, let alone laugh. However, on the upside, she is starting to meet people. There's her new neighbor, Slade Wilson, a handsome and mysterious older man-and he finds her just as attractive. Although they definitely have chemistry, he is kind of lacking in the sense of humor department-and then he's also so secretive about his profession. Then on Christmas Day, like the best present ever, she meets someone new. Someone who makes her laugh. Someone who really cracks open her shell and brings her out of the grey, dismal mood it seems she's been in forever. So he's not conventionally handsome, with his green hair and his really, really pale complexion-what does that matter? He's got a wonderful sense of humor, he makes her pulse race, and is he ever a stylish dresser. Only problem is, he's a new intake and a probable mass murderer. Is this some kind of a joke life's playing on her? And how can she believe he's serious? And then there's Slade, who is not the kind to give up easily. He's been away, busy with a squad with suicidal tendencies, but he promised to come back for her.

Hayley Winters is your average, everyday person-that is until she starts working at Arkham Asylum, where she becomes the infamous Joker's psychiatrist, and slowly starts to see herself succumbing to madness.. *PLEASE READ THE A/N IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO* ~PREVIEW~ It has been my dream to work at Arkham Asylum ever since I started studying psychology. Many think I'm the one who's insane for wanting to work in the one building In all of Gotham that holds the very worst of the worst. But the way I see it; Why go through all the hard work I have endured, only to sit in an office and listen to people's everyday problems consisting of their cheating spouses and perverted bosses? That it what I would consider to be insane. It would also be unbelievably boring, uninteresting and a complete waste of my time. But with the criminally insane, I happen to find them absolutely fascinating. They are anything but boring. Their minds work in ways unlike any other, and I want to study them; To find out what really makes them tick. I want to know the catalyst that can make a normal, everyday person-like myself- fall into a category of animalistic behaviour; The that's space between insane and insecure.
