Chapter One is a series of short stories, with each short story acting as the first chapter, or "chapter one," of the featured character's larger story.
  
  Each short story is connected to and advances the others, culminating in an ending that will leave you wanting more.
  
  The story is based in the heart of Boston; Charlestown, Massachusetts. And it follows the lives of two extended Irish Catholic families, spanning three generations, and the events that shape them. Strong language, strong emotions and stronger truths.
  
  This compilation contains the first two "chapter ones" - Janey and Morgan.
  
  In the first chapter one, originally titled "Tough Chick," we meet Janey, a strong-willed young woman at odds with the world around her, and herself. Thrust into a role she was never prepared for, we witness her battling back against circumstances that are beyond her control while creating a whole new set of circumstances that aren't, with destructive consequences.
  
  The second chapter one features Morgan O'Connor. Morgan could be the girl next door, if the girl next door had mental problems. Hiding behind a camera in a vain attempt to mask volatile emotions and an overdeveloped sense of empathy, Morgan's interactions with the world are strained - and often hilarious.
  
  Mirroring her life, Morgan's Chapter One finds her acting more as a peripheral character than a main one at times. She is an observer and easy to forget . . . until she chooses to jump to the forefront and make you remember her.

He wanted a family he could live off. He didn't know that they didn't have all the glitters and riches and they were living in their past glory. He was patient enough with her. He tried all he could to hide his real self. After the birth of her daughter, they left town to make a better life for themselves that was when the real devil in him unleashed. He became unbearable, he beat her, and he sometimes threw her out in the cold and brought different types of women into their home. Even when she tried to develop herself, by venturing into a business, he tried all he could to wash it down the drain. She was torn between staying in the marriage and running away when she lost a pregnancy due to his battering. She wanted to leave because she was scared and she was scared of leaving because of what people would say about a woman leaving her matrimonial home. At this point in her life and for the first time, she was going to make a decision for herself without caring so much about what people would say about her.
