A story based on different worlds with different beings having special powerful abilities not just facing a particular villain but trying to work towards their various individual interest and goals.
Beings from the light part of the world using their powers for good and beings from the underworld using their powers for evil. Two contrasting worlds that can never meet, and of course both beings from these worlds all thirsted and yearned for more power breeding a sense of love, sorrow,angst, set back etc
