DeSoto was not the place that Peridot had wanted to live when she moved down here, fully inventing to attend the college that harbored this city. But her plans changed when she didn't want to go to school anymore, and she quickly found a place to live at. The DeSoto National Forest had struck a deal with her: if she went to check on the caves in the morning, they would pay her for her work.
