His Persephone

He, God of Mischief, Guardian of the Multiverse, was destined to be alone at the end of time. Isolated on his throne of gold on the remains of the citadel, he had nothing to spend his eternity doing but watch on at the lives of the people who went about their lives as usual. Though today was different, after decades on the throne, he wanted a change. Threads of the multiverse waved in wisps around him, dancing in the empty void; his grip remained firm, for if he let go, chaos would ensue. He closed his eyes, and his mind ran through the infinite branches of time and space, watching the lives of the thousands. Midgard, Vanaheim, even Asgard. Though he didn't dare to look at the lives of his family, the strain on his heart, to watch as his mother sat to read with a different version of himself was too much for him to bear. So, by watching the lives of other mortals, strangers, is how he met her. The woman he couldn't take his eyes off.
