Inmortui either scared or instead looking for the clock. There's two Inmortui, looking for it. They search everywhere, and when they finally got it in their hand, they don't know the dangerous that comes with being its haver.

It was Edith's third life. First she was a poor hardworking girl lost under the pressure of work in the modern world of airplanes and computers but then she died.... Was this to avoid death or her lover? She couldn't really say but the only thing was some characters were now different from the initial novel plot especially Derek whom she loved.
