	Convinced of the Overlord's return, Lloyd sets out to find the truth about the Elemental War. But as he walks the razor's edge with his relationship with his father, he's left with more questions than answers. Cole searches for his own answers from a certain maid and Kai looks in the library--but a sudden murder shakes the entire palace.
	Rumors of a spy spread and set the ninja on edge. As uncertainty leaks from every corner, Kai stumbles upon a mysterious book, where all their answers seem to be written down. But what he doesn't realize is that there are others after the book... others who would kill to get their hands on it. And with the Sons of Darkness closer than anyone realizes, it's only a matter of time before secrets unfold and chaos breaks loose.

WARNING: This series contains dark themes and mature topics, such as mental health, multiple forms of abuse, death, and dark magic (nothing should be much worse in terms of maturity than what was in Darkness from Within).

There, they prepare to protect the Water Crystal, but for a while all is quiet. Then in the blink of an eye, Kai is accused of a crime he didn't commit. King Alec is determined to put the red ninja behind bars as the ninja team comes up with their own plan to clear their brother's name. But as the accusations and confusion dive deeper, doubt passes through the team and they begin to question what they're doing. Stories mix together and they no longer know who is telling the truth and who is lying. Just when all seems to be crashing down, an outside force jumps in to help, but one wrong move could cause pain or even death to, not just Kai, but the only friend the red ninja has left. Skylor. Kai's always wanted to be a leader, but his hothead kept him from properly fulfilling that role, but know, he has to teach the team a new form of Jitzu, one he found on his journey.
