The Moon's Elite

Just as my heart rate started to slow arms wrap around my torso and my heart starts to beat so loud I can barely hear. He saw me. I'm done for.
"Sorry about that I'm quite afraid I ruined the moment." He murmurs against my shoulder and only when I realize he didn't catch me snooping does my heart rate go down enough to be healthy. "And you'd been looking so lovely." He whispers in my ear his voice low. My traitorous eyes close as he pulls me closer. And I decide its fine for a moment so I let myself inhale his scent, a mix of pine wood and something fresh.
He spins me around and kisses me before I even process what was happening. My back is pressed against the bookshelf and he kisses me desperately as if he's afraid I'll slip between his fingers. I let myself kiss him back and the kiss becomes soft like a feather he seems to be savoring it before he eventually pulls back and looks into my eyes searching for what I don't know. Once people were sent up to colonize the Moon. More than a hundred years later the Celestial Empire and Earth went to war. Both sides were devastated but the moon had no means to recover. 2 generations later the Earth seeks to make a peace treaty with the Celestial Empire.
Earth believes peace is inevitable. The moon however has other plans.
Mira is a warrior conscripted to the moon's army at merely 14. After showing her skills she has risen in the ranks to the Empire's secret warriors trained to carry out the will of the crown, whatever it may be. Which is what sends her to Earth to make sure the upcoming treaty negotiations never happen.
