In 1971, James Potter gets on the Hogwarts Express, ready for his first year as a full fledged wizard. Forming bond with Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew, he creates a lasting friendship that transcends blood and loyalty. But nothing is good forever, and with the looming threat of war, James needs to discover who he really is outside of expectation, even if that involves the wily and dangerous brother of his best friend. New challenges, friends, and fears come from the least expected places, and exploring them will prepare him for anything that the world might throw at him in the future.
Authors note: Hi! This is a WIP, and I'll post chapters as often as I can. Not putting a general trigger warning here like usual, but on triggering chapters I'll put a general header so readers know what to expect. No spoilers of course :3 Enjoy!!
