A story based on a one-shot I wrote not too long ago. Steve and Bucky's disappearances have been switched, leaving Steve with Hydra and Bucky being found in the ice.
There will be some tidbits I took from the one-shot and put them on here throughout the story.
I think it's important to note that Bucky is 5'9, not 6'0 like in the movies. And a bit more thin.
Enjoy!

Dead without you ~ stucky
"Who's Bucky?" Asking him that question sparks a memory. I asked him that before. We were fighting on that bridge. He called me Bucky when he saw my face for the first time and I remember feeling utterly lost because of it. "You are," he groans, hanging on by the skin of his teeth. He tries to lift his hand, but it falls back onto the mud as he still lacks strength. "I'm Bucky?" Again, the name stirs a sense of deep familiarity, but I have no idea what it means. Hydra never called me anything but soldier. "Yes, you're Bucky and I'm Steve. We're friends. Old friends - close friends." ********** Set at the ending of the movie the Winter Soldier. After Bucky drags Steve onto the shore and saves his life, Bucky wants to get away from it all. Steve has different plans though. Original story: Morgana & VigoDC Edited by VigoDCComplete

Crave
The Asset. Makes it sound like there was only one, doesn't it? One assassin, one soldier, one life stolen and taken over to be used as a tool for evil minds. There was never only one. Hydra's bloodstained hands, people called them. And once one's hands have been bathed in blood so many times, it's near impossible to look at the skin and not see red. Yet, when Hydra has been pushed out into the open by the Avengers there's the slightest flicker of hope for the asset left behind. You see, I never had a Steve Rogers. No one is looking for me. The only person I've ever had is the one I was trapped with, the one that's now free. The one who, if he finds me, I will surely destroy. The only reason I have not deleted this is that it was my gateway into the English program and, eventually, to earning my bachelor's degree. My heart can't bring me to erase this work forever.
