She arrives at sundown with a seemingly fake reason for being late. It throws Sunny, her adopted aunt, into worry as it seems her niece has changed. But why? And why does she keep having visions of nothing but pitch blackness? Did something happen to her niece? And what will happen when a bully Skywing keeps making her doubt that being a hybrid is somehow wrong? Will Spirit be able to recover her regular self or will she give up and become a doormat? And how will a secret admirer come into play? Especially when Spirit begins to get more visions of strange giant creatures deep within the ocean. On top of that, her father died before she'd hatched, and her mother shortly after. And her only friend isn't who she says she is. His father tried to kill him when he found out about his powers, his abusive mother, and getting death threats from his peers and other tribes, and now... Lucifer wants revenge and to take control of the other tribes. He became King (the very first king) and reigns for over 1,000 years. Who will stop Lucifer's rage and save the world?
