It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. They dodge every trap, disappear around every bend, and even manage to take some of the already captured humans with them. The aliens pity these "little creatures"-they just don't want to leave their home, but Earth is falling apart at the seams, and they are determined to take the stubborn little humans to the safety of one of the mother planets. Sick, starving and having a broken leg isn't the best case scenario in such a place, but when you see that tell-tale sign of another slugcat. A faint hope blossoms. Or A Pacifist (You) ends up in Rain Word and finds Artificer. Notes: You go by They/Them, so everyone can suffer while reading my story equally. Artificer is female in this fanfic.
