Hermione Granger attends Hogwarts as one of the few Muggle-born students. Despite her efforts to make a place for herself, her future seems set in stone until Sixth Year, when the Triwizard Tournament is announced and everything begins to change.

Ron, feeling like Hogwarts held to many soured memories to ever be a home again. When Harry manages to involve himself with dark people with darker intentions the last remaining façade of normality slips away. Without his two closest friends to aid him on a journey of recovery, it seems like the next best answer will be with the reformed Malfoy.
