IN WHICH the shipped-off twin sister of jess mariano finds life in stars hollow boring until she falls for a certain troublemaker at the private school of her dreams and starts looking at life a bit... differently, to say the least...

On Jess and Tessa's 10th birthdays, the twins' mother, Liz Danes came home from her date with some nutjob of a boyfriend, saying how he gave her a great idea. Jess wasn't expecting to hear the words, "Your sister is going to be moving to Connecticut with my brother, and your uncle, Luke."

Nobody in any world outside of the Danes-Mariano family would ever be able to understand why on Earth Liz Danes would want to send her only daughter away, and separate her from her twin brother, but, hey!, that's just Liz Danes for you; famous for being the all-over-the-place wackjob that everyone in New York City knows her as. She'll never change... or will she?

Tessa and Jess keep in contact through phone calls as often as possible, but eventually it just got impossible, since they both have their own lives to live. Although, no matter what, they always called each other to celebrate their birthdays together, over the phone.

7 years later, when Jess Mariano is 17, and starting to run with the wrong crowds, Liz can think of nothing else to do, but to simply send him to live with his uncle, as well. But is it really that simple? We'll see...
