"A Court of Ice and Starshine" picks up the enthralling narrative from where "A Court of Specters and Reapers" left off, delving into the lives of Lowen and Malek as they navigate the post-war worlds of Hybern and Velaris. In Hybern, Malek grapples with his new, complex role in a realm still scarred by conflict. Velaris, the City of Starlight, presents a different challenge for Lowen, who is seeking her place in a society that doesn't seem to need her. Amidst the preparations for the Winter Solstice, a time of celebration and reflection, both siblings find themselves facing not just the challenge of fitting in but also the task of guarding their new homes against looming, ominous threats.

Lowen and Malek, along with their loved ones, must confront these threats, proving that the bonds forged in the fires of war are strong enough to face any darkness. "A Court of Ice and Starshine" is a tale of finding one's place in a changed world, of facing new dangers with unyielding courage, and of the enduring power of hope.
