17 year-old Noah is master thief, but only steals from those he considers corrupt. Disillusioned and cynical by the world around him, he pretends to be a regular orphan boy by day and goes on heists by night. His latest heist, however, unlocks ancient beings that once created their world, reigniting an ages-long contest among these higher beings. Tricked into being the avatar of fire by the Fire Deity, Phoenix, he is forced to participate in an upcoming war, called The Contest, to determine who will dominate the planet.
But before this war can begin, Noah must reluctantly learn how to use his powers, track down and stop a renegade Deity from destroying everything, and keep his new life a secret or risk being exposed. Phoenix may be a goddess, but Noah won't change his ways so easily. Will he walk the path of a noble avatar or will he stay a villainous thief? Or will be he something else?|
