The Creaky Old Forest, or Danny, or Some Foreboding Yet Mystical Title

This is the story of the aloner, Danny; or, at least, it was.

Some useful facts about this world, not so different from yours:
1. Cloud men are deity-like entities that exist in a heavenly realm, playfully frolicking and lazing in the clouds.
2. Aloners are people that deviate from the norm. They exist on the fringes. They are darker blotches on the more plastic-y and bubblegum-y parts of human life.
3. Creaky lank-monsters are deviously kind beings, unintentionally. They are forest spirits in the form of tall stiff splintery wooden humanoids with the darkest eyes; don't look into their eyes.
4. Cobkhukk (pronounced COB-huh-cook) is a painful distortion of reality, where one's existence is bent and twisted into a new one. Cobkhukk is a rare occurrence, but it still happens. So, the next time you are sipping a tea cup, ponder that it might have been a living being now trapped in a silent ceramic void.
