The life turning mistake 'Bright' ever had take was, to follow the norms. To avoid those judging eyes of society. He chose to hurt the only one who genuinely cared about him.
After that incident he realized, how much he misses this annoying person in his life. Even though he is beside him, there is a gap btw them which can't be filled. He wish to correct his mistakes, but something is holding him back. GUILT was all he can feel.
