Margaret should have known being with Joel Parson would be bad news. He was, after all, part of the most dangerous gang in the city. But Joel is dead now, killed by the very leader of that gang. Which leaves Margaret as a witness of his murder. Now, gang members and murderers of every kind have been sent to kill her, while their only mission is to capture a photo of her dead body as proof. She must escape the city and travel north to seek the help of her aunt and uncle before her enemies reach her. The road is long and time is short. But as long as they chase her, she'll keep running.
