Alex is a Gallifraxen, a planet located right next to the ever so famous planet Gallifrey, the place where Time Lords came from. Alex is not a Time Lord but a Time Lady and her people have a very special gift. They stay alive, forever, until they have met their soulmate which in turn causes their hearts to beat once again. Alex has never found her soulmate and has in turn wandered the galaxy for nearly 800 years, helping people and seeing what's out there. Even though she's always wanted to find the person that makes her heart beat, Alex is content with living on the run, never really stopping somewhere too long. 

But when she ends up on Earth in the year 2007 she runs into another much like her, a man called the Doctor. But this doctor is a tad bit special, a tad bit incredible and the man that in turn causes her heart to start beating. But there's a slight problem, the Doctor has the ability to regenerate, to live a hundred lives. Alex on the other hand is now practically human, destined to one day die of old age. But before she succumbs to the fact that she's only human, Alex is determined to have the best adventure she can and to follow the Doctor to the ends of every earth in the galaxy. Before it's too late.

As each Doctor views the transmission differently according to his vastly varying personalities, the thirteen men and their companions set course to the massive vessel. But is it truly someone in need, or the most elaborate trap the Doctor had ever encountered? Join the Doctors, his most popular companions, and two surprise guests as they unravel the mystery of the Menagerie! This was fun to write, as I have been a fan of Doctor Who since I was nine years old during the Tom Baker era. I studied hard to try to capture each Doctor's personality as they speak and interact, although I do admit that having a cast of 28 causes several characters to get lost within the dialogue. I made this as canonically correct as possible, pulling each Doctor and his corresponding companion from episodes to make this possible, but if you catch me in an error... I claim AU! Ha ha. It is for all intents and purposes a Capaldi episode, within his first season, long before Face the Raven. This is a Doctor Who fanfic for superfans only, as the entire first section only describes each Doctor by his attire, so you have to guess which is which by their apparel and companions. If you aren't familiar with each and every Doctor, this story will get very confusing. That being said, I hope you enjoy!
