Seventeen-year-old Zahren Ivory is a half human, half dark elf born into a corrupt and malicious kingdom that treats un-humans like second-class citizens. Upon birth into the Kingdom of Belview, dark elves are required to pay a debt in gold to the royals, just for being allowed to live! When he was younger, Zahren chose to join the Kingdom's Battalion in order to earn the funds to pay for his freedom. While working for the military, his goal was to find a solution to pay off his debt as fast as possible, and he just may have found his way out with The Royal Decision. The princes and princesses in the kingdom are battling for the throne, and are given tasks to preform with the victor taking the crown. Zahren is one of four un-humans selected in order to aide one of the royals. Which royal will choose to work with a dark elf, the most hated species of un-human, and will Zahren be victorious in earning his freedom?
