"This is The Island, a prison designed for minors like me- too young to be executed, too old to be reformed, and too much of a stain on humanity to let exist. This is a science fiction novel about a girl and an alien creature trying to escape a newly discovered planet light years away from Earth. This planet supports life along with alien creatures who want the astronauts as they're next meal. 100 years into the future scientists discover a new planet that seems to support life. This planet has been named Discordia named for its unique appearance and odd looking structures. It was the first time mankind discovered we were not alone in the universe- these beings are nicknamed Discords and they crave human flesh and blood ... The astronauts are dying and no one can do anything to stop it. One survivor remains on Discordia. Shira is a 21 year old girl who is the youngest woman to become an astronaut who survived the alien attacks. But they aren't the only things Shira needs to worry about- Shira finds out that the surviving astronauts aren't who they say they are. On her mission to survive she meets a companion a bright blue creature that resembles a fox. Crescentia is an alien creature of Discordia who finds Shira fascinating and wants to help her escape with one condition... That Shira takes Crescentia with her. But Crescentia has to control her urges for human flesh before she does something she regrets. Can Shira and Crescentia escape this planet before they end up left for dead?Complete

MINDSLIP
MINDSLIP is the catastrophe which hits the Earth at 8.15am GMT next Wednesday morning. It began six hundred and fifty years earlier when Betelgeuse fulfilled its long-held prophecy to turn supernova. The radiation, gamma rays and gravitational waves hit the Earth at the same time as a coronal mass ejection. The combined bombardment causes all creatures on the Earth to swap minds, leaving people in animals, animals in people, men in women and children in adults. The nightmare which follows becomes a social and economic catastrophe. Geoffrey Arnold becomes a key figure in the government catastrophe committee, formed to resolve the myriad issues raised by MINDSLIP. Power generation, the health service, farming, pay, pensions, education, the banking system and asset ownership spiral into chaos. In addition, Geoffrey must save his wife from an imminent premature death brought on by one of the MINDSLIP effects. MINDSLIP is a realistic, frightening and sometimes amusing work of imagination which explores how people and families react to the world being changed beyond recognition.
