ASOIAF: Flames of Madness

Westeros has always been a place where the struggle for power dominated the political landscape. Yet, it was a landscape dominated by men, especially the Iron Throne. Aegon the Conquerer created it before he was succeeded by his descendants until it eventually fell to King Aelor. Yet try as he might, he was never able to sire a male heir with his wife, Queen Lina Tyrell, with the Queen dying whilst giving birth to a set of twins: Princess Aerea, the elder of the two, and Princess Viserra. It quickly became evident that those two were on opposite sides of the coin, with Aerea being more ambitious and even ruthless at times whilst Viserra was more kind-hearted and content with being in the shadow of her sister.

To ensure his bloodline would stay on the Throne, King Aelor would name Aerea his heiress until a male heir was born whilst the entire realm expected the King to remarry. Yet for the next years, the King didn't remarry and Princess Aerea stayed the heiress to the crown... until one fateful day turned the whole situation upside down.
