When seventeen  year old Tori Anderson is sent to live with her grandparents in Malibu for the summer, she's less than excited.

 But with a whole three months ahead of her, she's determined to have the best summer of them all,regardless of the retired neighborhood her grandparents live in.

Then she meets Matthew King, a charming guy with a bit of a rough side, and is immediately attracted to him. With a fun filled summer full of new found friends( and maybe some enemies), sun and sand, and a whole lot of drama, she finds that maybe Matthew isn't everything he's said to be.

But, at the end of the summer, will she have what it takes to leave this new life?
