The Dirty Part

Joann is shocked when her mother's old lover returns to town, especially since both her parents died in a car accident over a year ago. When his behavior suddenly becomes strange and erratic she knows something terrible is brewing. She found surprising solace in the protection of her boyfriend for a while, but when he up and leaves her as well she is forced to face the fact that she can't keep the man at bay on her own and as long as she is alone she is vulnerable. She must find someone strong enough to protect her, and she knows just the man.
Jason Macke is a fighter through and through, odd and dark and innately troubling. No one would ever think of tangling with a girl that belonged to him. But he also has a bad reputation with women and won't keep anyone around for longer than a night unless there's something good in it for him. Shy girl Joann must decide how far she is willing to go for a chance at a safe life and how long she can live in the charade before something breaks.
