Gazing upon a star

Could you see another person when you just stared at the stars?
That's what I've always been wondering about in my childhood, since my dad is always gone on a business trip and can't come back.
Even if he does come back, he's just going to pack his bag again and take off.
"You will always know that father will come back, Gemma. You know he will." My mom always said that, but... The truth is that he never has time for me anymore..
Now..... The summer of my 8th grade, and I've just graduated.
Will dad come back this summer?
Or will he just leave me to mom as usual?
It turns out that I met somebody special at aunt Lila's house..
The boy of my dreams... He is called Carson, and we are in the same grade. Even though we go to different schools.
What about Emma and Cara? My BFFs?
I wonder how they're doing in summer school. I've only met them in middle school, but we soon became best of friends when we first met.
Like mom said, by gazing upon a star, I could be connected to anyone I want.
