Blemish

In 1909 Philippines, wealthy debutante Maristella Garcia's pampered life of balls and beaus changes forever when she's diagnosed with leprosy. Wrenched from her family and imprisoned in the leper colony of Culion, she struggles to adjust to harsh living conditions and the realities of the disease.

As lonely days turn into months, she fights her attraction to the enigmatic Basilio Flores. They have no future together, for lepers are not allowed to marry. Forces of change, however, are building in Culion. When a dramatic turn of events forces her and Basilio to attempt a heroic act together, they discover that love just may be worth risking everything for.
