Glitchy, serrated, kinetic sounds of a digital world, from the mind of prolific Yogyakarta-based computer musician Rangga Purnama Aji. Rubicon and Found Sound Nation teamed up with Rangga to create a pack assembled from the live coding environment TidalCycles and sound engine SuperCollider which features eerie experimental loops to textured noises and bold, cinematic phrases. Born in Central Java, Indonesia, Rangga are a composer and electronic artist whose work exists in the boundless realm of digital music and art, often nodding towards his Javanese and Sundanese background and questioning our relationship to creating alternate realities and meaning. This sample pack comes at a time where the depth of Rangga's work in algorithmic music manifests as a prolific catalog of releases and active participation in live coding groups both in Indonesia (such as BASASAE with Maria Maya Aristya and Kursi Ketik Ensemble with Louis Bertrand Marcellino Harijanto), as well as internationally, with IG noto ensemble. He is also the Program Director of October Meeting - Contemporary Music & Musicians, a non-profit meeting space for thought, artistic and scientific research, and critical activities towards the development of sound arts.
