Mature
Dakota Williams is a Marine, returning home with a purple heart and honors from the president of the United States. Although, that's not all she's returning home with; she has demons, nightmares that won't seem to stop. The young woman was gone for four years, and has to learn how to handle life at home. Dakota struggles and it takes her some time to adjust to being home again. Just when she thinks things couldn't get any worse, a girl from her past reemerges and reaches out to her. The battered Marine is backed into a corner so to speak.

Dakota will have to decide if she wants to forgive the woman who broke her heart and give her a second chance. She could just walk away, leave her past behind her and never look back. Things will get tougher for her and she'll have to choose. The question remains, will her choices end in more heartbreak or will she find her happiness?

Nixon is the 3rd book in the Broken Series. (Ryan is the 1st, Brynn is the 2nd) Nixon leaves rehab early because he can't deal with being there anymore. His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
