He one day stumbles across a base in the nether that he had never seen before and decided to investigate it. Grian finds both Hels and Ex inside of the base and runs away. After a week, Grian runs into them again but this time something inside of him wants to trust them and befriend the two. Grian starts to avoid all the hermits after they start to be mean to him. Grian soon starts to have a monotone color palette like the demise game in season 6. Ex and Hels soon find him in his base like this and find out that the hermits were the cause of him being like this. Something happens to make Grian go over the edge and latch out at one of the Hermits. Can Grian cope with the guilt slowly overtaking him? Will he be able to ever look Scar in the eyes again? Meanwhile, Scar seems his happy self. That slowly changes when his beloved pesky bird seems to avoid him. Aka, Grian doesn't want to make the same mistakes, but does. And Scar tries to figure out why things have changed. And somehow, they always end up back in the desert.
