This is mostly just an older story I wrote when I was younger I wanted to post to see how I've grown in my writing abilities:
Olivia had always been a nervous kid. Her life used to be happy, until the morning of her 17th birthday, August 2, 2016. Her parents had left the night before to go on their first date in years, but they never came back. Olivia had woken up the next day to find they were still not there. She thought that they were planning a big surprise and that they would be back any minute, so she waited on their couch downstairs. While she waited, she decided to watch tv. She turned it on and was about to change it to Netflox when a news story caught her eyes. She continued watching it..., "Terrible car crash found on kitten st ct E. A moving truck crashed straight into a minivan. There were no survivors found." Alabama Way ST was 5 minutes away from her house, and her parents were driving a minivan that night.
Her parents died in that car crash...
She was sent to an orphanage because none of her living family members could take her in.
Her grandparents lived in a senior home and were too old to care for her, and her aunt had 7 kids. Her aunt loved her very much but 8 kids is 7 too many to care for by oneself.
Olivia didn't know what to feel at the time, but she knew she sure wasn't happy. The one wish Olivia wanted on her 17th birthday was that her parents had come back.
Elliot's partner was his whole world, but after Allan's death, his ghost haunts Elliot's dreams. Everyone tells Elliot to move on, but he isn't sure he can.
*****
It's been a year since the love of Elliot's life, Allan, passed away. Everyone thinks he should have recovered after that much time, but Allan still haunts Elliot every night. He struggles to maintain relationships with his family, and despite a coworkers interest he can't summon up the courage to date. Elliot is living for the past, because to live for the present means he'll have to live with a hole in his heart. But the question Elliot has to face chases him through his monotonous days: is mourning Allan with everything he has truly living?
