Devon doesn't know what to expect after moving to North Carolina. He can't make friends, and his relationship with his parents is starting to crumble, so Devon finds his peace in the nearby mountain forests. Devon learns to accept that his future will be isolated and secluded, when he stumbles across a strange rock revealing the biggest secret ever. 

When the note he found turns truth, Devon learns about another world of sentient dragons, and begins to spend time there. Learning to balance a double life, Devon is followed and the gate is discovered by a girl from his school. Will he be able to keep the secret safe? Or will he have to destroy it for the safety of his world and the one he discovered?
