There is a family known as the Kasserpults. They are the nine of them altogether and they are named after the nine planets with Saturn and Earth as their parents. In this first book of the 'Follow' series, Drake Kensington, a young retired detective, is told to look into the cases involving Venus Kasserpult, the third born of the Kasserpults. It seems Venus is situated in a library and is luring people their in order to torture them with a request none of them grant her.
Venus Kasserpult like all the rest of her family members has the Prowess of Beauty. This is what is said to have kept the Kasserpults alive for over centuries.
As Drake investigates the cases of Venus, he loses focus and finds himself entangled in the web of the Kasserpults. It is only in the second book when the real effects of his actions are truly seen...
