Dancing With The Devil

In 2008, Demi Lovato had her daughter Mackenzie. Rather than keep Mackenzie, she chose to let her go to Mackenzie's father Chris. She wanted what was best for her babygirl and knew that she wasn't what was best. Nothing happening in her life was going to give her daughter the life she deserved. Between her chaotic schedule that'd create no time to spend and bond with her daughter, and the fact that she was struggling to stay sober, she knew letting her ex-boyfriend have their daughter was the best thing for Mackenzie.

All Demi wanted was to protect her daughter from the life she was living. She was so scared of Mackenzie seeing something and drawing inspiration from it, or thinking it was ok to do. She never wanted the mistakes she made to be the same mistakes her daughter made. She felt like distance was the best way to prevent that from happening. Because Mackenzie wouldn't be able to see her poor choices that way.

Through the span of 16 years Demi has been there for Mackenzie as much as she possible could be. She hoped that she'd be able to be involved more than she's been allowed to be. Things just didn't work out that way, but Demi's been there each time she's been allowed to. At what points did she get to see her daughter was never up to her; it was always up to her ex-boyfriend.

It was hard for her to not see her daughter the amount she wanted, but she felt like she did what was best for Mackenzie. She felt like she for sure prevented Mackenzie repeating her mistakes. Little did Demi know that her passing Mackenzie off to her father wouldn't prevent the things she was worried about.

So, what will happen when Demi finds out that her daughter isn't sober? Will she be able to help her daughter get to sobriety? Or will she have to give up on her because Mackenzie is too far gone to help?
