Eliza's boyfriend broke up with her a week before their junior year and their two year anniversary. And her best friend had dated Ricky Bowen until she said the L word and Ricky ran out of her room. Now Nini is dating EJ Caswell. 

Eliza and Ricky come up with an idea to get back their exes. Eliza convinces Ricky to audition for High School Musical not knowing her ex, Luke, was auditioning, too. Which makes her plan a lot easier, but she's focused on helping Ricky.
