Bastard. Definition: An illegitimate child conceived before marriage or due too adultery by the husband or wife with another lover during the marriage.

Bastards inherit nothing but the dirt from which they must crawl through because their parent couldn't control the lust within, making them sire a child. From birth Bastards are subjugated to all manners of restriction, discrimination and prejudice. If a bastard was spared the agony of living a mercy kill at birth would end them before they could even breath.

Surely, a bastard couldn't earn the love of the people.........

"Arise now, ye Tarnished. Ye dead, who yet live. The call of long-lost grace speaks to us all!" It was a simple, yet grand purpose to those given a second chance by the Light of Grace. To become Elden Lord and claim the Elden Ring. Many would be emboldened by the flame of that ambition, and many more would perish at the hands of those who wished nothing more than to see the Tarnished dead. Such was the way things were in the Lands Between, shattered and fractured to the point of chaos between its residents. Only a select few would be guided by Grace, however only one would truly be gifted with something incredible. A gift that would render the physical well-being of a soul... unworried in the face of death. Yet the mind of that same individual would only be further damaged from it. So what did it mean to have true immortality? A blessing? Or merely a foul curse in disguise? One Tarnished warrior would grow bitter to it nonetheless, all the while cherishing the one gift he truly had. A friend. One he would do anything to protect, and one he would grow to love in spite of fate itself. This is an Elden Ring Two-Shot story; a Male reader X Melina story. This story begins in the country of Britannia. A country where several certain races live with one another. And at the center of these races stood a girl. A beautiful girl with wild molten hair and eyes that reflected the universe. She was the creation of love and the child of wilderness. She was someone full of wisdom, wisdom she had gathered from centuries of experience. Many don't know how she was born, some saying that she was the daughter of the blazing sun while others say that she was born from ashes during an alluring eclipse. The name they called her? Malaika Kya. Angel from the diamond sky. For eons she wandered, visiting many kingdoms and gaining many friends. She battled battles that many would have died from, protecting those she holds dear. Slowly, her family began to grow. Person by person, home by home, kingdom by kingdom. Her heart spreading the biggest of wings. But then it happened. The one she loved most was attacked, almost dying because of someone's idiocy. And so she fought. She fought for her dying family, soon gaining the powers of the internal flame buried deep inside her. Screeching her painful cry, she fought in her new form with all her might. But it wasn't enough as it's hand sprouted from her body. Tears fell from the eyes of her lover, his eyes wide as he watched her body wither in pain. Hey dark eye were gentle a she watched his physical pain disappear, his wounds sealed shut as he snatched her closer one more time. Softly she apologized, saying words she wanted so badly to say before sealing their goodbye with a kiss. After one last smile, she disappeared into the fire below, her body dissipating into the molten flames as her words echoed into the soundless wind. "Mind telling me about that promise again?"

In a castle veiled by the mists of Scotland, a Queens reign shimmers like a tempest's eye-a beacon of strength amidst the encroaching darkness. Beside her, Caius, the enigmatic king consort, wields his loyalty like a blade, his heart a fortress against the shadows that gather. They are bound by destiny, yet haunted by whispers of treachery and ancient rivalries. As the winter rains weave a tapestry of secrets and the cries of the past echo through stone corridors, an heir's absence becomes a thorn in their sovereign crown. To be named heir is to embrace a destiny fraught with peril and power, love and loss. In this realm where legends are born and darkness bides its time, Rowen and Caius must confront the ghosts of their lineage, the burdens of their crowns, and the unfathomable possibility of a child born from their union. The past and future collide in a dance of blood and shadow, where the line between ally and enemy blurs, and the true cost of power is revealed. Step into a world where the bonds of family are tested by prophecy, where love is both a weapon and a shield, and where the fate of the throne rests upon a legacy forged in moonlight and magic.
