After moon's reset, sun was a tad paranoid about one of the others getting their memories reset like moon, sadly, that is exactly what he had to deal with after something happened with their little bean.
Getting your memories erased could be bad or good, or both, with Lunar, he was probably pretty traumatized by what has happened to him and his siblings, and to him, not remembering the things he's previously gone through would be the best escape to him, but he didn't think of how much it would affect his siblings.
