Why did the sorcerer choose the one person disinterested in magic to be his apprentice? A more polished version of Disney's Wish crosses paths with Goosebumps drizzled in Forlot. Everybody in the modern village of Raalum is enchanted by the good that magic can bring. Except Hanakin Tingles. She has neither hatred for it nor envy towards the wise sorcerer and others in control of it. People have sadly overhyped it. It is one of the few things that the villagers discuss, which is why Hanakin does not have any friends. Nada. If that were not already lonely enough, she does not have anyone to call family either. She has been at the orphanage her entire life. According to the head mistress, her mother surrendered her because she was not ready to be a mom. Hanakin was never planned. She sees herself as another mistake. A waste. Why would God let her be born to a father and a mother who do not want her and to a society that would not grieve her after her death? The only magic that she needs is creativity. It will have to wait, though. The sorcerer requests that all children ages thirteen to seventeen be present at his cottage. He is in search of an apprentice. Hanakin is positive that he will not choose her out of the crowd of jumpy and cheering kids. But he does. And she cannot decline. ------------------------------ Cover: Recolor Copyright by Ash J. All Rights ReservedTous Droits Réservés
