It was a mid-winter season in Danmarre, and the general population was secluded inside their houses due to the freezing and frigid weather conditions. However, not these two children, their names were Argentum and Lindice, as they were selling matchsticks and newspapers in a few nearby streets and neighborhoods. The siblings were left alone to bear the brunt of the inclement weather, without a home to seek shelter in or any other forms of protection to shield themselves from the cold of the harsh season.

 Not until one day, before they even got to grasp the concept of a normal life, their world suddenly transform into a horrifying nightmare. They suddenly felt themselves become trapped in a small confinement full of machines and chemicals, all they wanted was to go back to the normal and simple life they once led.

In this Book TWO of the 19th century theme of  a historical-mystery series 'Van Deloney', readers will get the chance to explore the backstory of two characters who were servants of the mysterious and enigmatic Madame Dorothea Grimoard. Find out how these two individuals were leading their challenging lives and what made them into a part of the intricate and deadly web of secrets and mysteries.
