What if I would tell you that Cale was a very weak person and was doing his best to proof himself that there was a reason to go on? The Goddess took it upon herself to make sure this idiot will always stay safe even in different AUs. Whenever she watched him in pain, she will feel the same and immediately help him. If he died, she will take his soul to another world to live happily again. That when she noticed something very important. She almost banged her head on the nearest wall.
