A mental health story. Penned from a twisted mind, of what it's truly like inside their head. A small sliver of what's it like to live in the shadows with issues.
This is Cody's story. A dark beginning with numerous possible endings of what could happen to him. Where it began, what happens over time, and where his story ends. Short stories that eventually became a novel, inspired by numerous Citizen Soldier songs.
I hope this story helps out some people, because I wrote every part as an out for me. If you need help, please dial 988.

A Lasting Curse
This is my first story to be posted on Wattpad. This is the story of a curse, and those bearing it learning to make it their own. It is a story of love, and hope. A story of conflict and despair. I'm about to tell you a story about a girl. A normal girl. A girl that had no cares in the world, until her trust for it was stripped away. When you read her story, you'll find yourself trusting her, loving her, rooting for her. But you see, not everyone gets to trust the world. Not everyone has a happy ending. --- Halfway through the kiss however, his attitude changed; instead of being a loving embrace, it became a fierce trap. His grip on her waist tightened, trapped her where she was instead of simply holding her where he wanted her. The hand in her hair grabbed a section of it, enforcing his demand for her not to go anywhere. Before she knew what was happening, he left go of her hair, and pushed her to the ground. She gasped, suddenly able to breathe. He stood up and walked over to her. He placed a soft hand on her cheek, just like he used to when he was telling her how special she was to him. None of the emotion was there this time however, all she could feel radiating from his was rage. "You shouldn't have run off, babe," he said bitterly. "I was about to show you how much I loved you. Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place.
