~Baldur's Gate Fanfiction / Expansion on Gale Romance~
Aera was in Baldur's Gate one moment, then aboard a Mind Flayer vessel the very next. She, like many others, was infected with the tadpole that would ultimately turn her into the monster that held her captive. When the chance to escape arrives, her and some allied strangers somehow manage to survive the vessel crashing to the beach below.
Aera meets many companions, but Gale of Waterdeep seems to take an interest to her. After being mistreated for so long, will she learn how to love and trusta man once more? Will she be able to keep him--and her other companions-- alive as they continue their journey to Baldur's Gate?
Follow an author OC throughout the events of Baldur's Gate 3. A lot of the events will stay the same, as will some of the main dialogue scenes with the companions, but much content will be added to ensure more depth to the characters and their connections. I hope you enjoy!

Astarion ascended just like he wanted. Tav helped just like he asked. People change just like they were warned. Fair warning: Ascended Astarion is the villain, Tav frequently disassociates and justifies Astarion's behavior to themselves and the other companions. Domestic violence is implied but not depicted out-right. Verbal abuse is kept to a minimum. Two major characters will die eventually. An alternative epilogue at Withers' party. As the Ash Settles, is my take on what happens to the group of companions after saving Baldur's Gate. As the ash settles and the drinks are pouring a familiar sensation washes over our Tav, the very same one that compelled her to attack poor Alfira in her slumber, perhaps defeating her sister was not just denying her father but in fact taking back her rightful spot as leader of the Bhaalspawn, perhaps Withers was indeed wrong. Questions left unanswered while still having to find a special artifact for Astarion to walk and in the sun and still beating heart to fear Karlach. Rated M for Mature. When Elara is kidnapped by a nautiloid ship and has a mind flayer parasite inserted into her brain, the only things on her agenda are getting home, and getting rid of the parasite. That is, until she comes across a handsome elf who is in the same predicament as her, and also happens to be a vampire. This story follows these two elves, both scarred from their pasts, both determined not to fall in love or anything so frivolous, along with a well-spoken wizard and a tiefling pulled straight from the Hells, as they journey to Baldur's Gate and try not to die in the process.
