The rain, which has helped billions of people worldwide, has a rare usage of helping people. For two in every one hundred million, the rain would temporarily make them deaf, forcing the two to communicate with one another.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a young girl, learns how to communicate with her soulmate who doesn't speak the same language as her, and tries to figure out how to be a superheroine with her rare disease.
Damian Wayne, a child assassin, figures out how to keep his soulmate to himself, as well as trying to adjust from coming from being an assassin to a normal child and vigilante.
