Angelina Elise Donnelly has just begun her summer as a freshly graduated senior. She's a blossoming young star who wants more than anything to get her chance at making it big in Hollywood as a singer. When her successful fashion designer aunt visits her family in Cleveland, an opportunity is presented to Angelina for her to go to New York City with her Aunt Joyce who's working backstage on The Wiz film set.

Angelina soon becomes acquainted with the one and only Michael Jackson. Conflict arises when she ends up catching feelings for the young star-studded performer who's already in a relationship with Broadway actress: Stephanie Mills. With Michael's heart already belonging to Hollywood icon Diana Ross, eyes for his girlfriend Stephanie, and a friend, Tatum O'Neal, who starts coming around more often, things become messy when the new girl sparks his interest.

Will Angelina fall into temptation? Will she take up Quincy Jones' offer of a lifetime to get her name out into the music world? Will Michael quit foolin' around and finally see she's the right one for him?
