I met him at my darkest. He was light-too bright, too beautiful. As if the world could never quite hold him. He had a mischievous smile, eyes full of stars, and a habit of saying the most ridiculous things right when I needed them. He made fun of me and I rolled my eyes. Somehow, in between the sarcasm and stubbornness, he became the only person I didn't want to lose. He offered me a strange deal. I said yes, mostly out of spite. But then he made me laugh again. He made me feel alive. He made me stay. At that time, I didn't know how much he would change me. Or how hard it would be to let him go. He was light. He was MY LIGHT.
