Twelve years. Twelve years full of love, passion, friendship, and secrets. Twelve years of endless nights underneath the stars, hot mornings by the beach, and long afternoons out in town. Half of my life I spent with him. Cohen was my best friend. He was everything a girl could ask for. His dark curly hair and green blue eyes were perfect with his pale skin. He was taller than I, like most people were. He was also very chiseled and rugged. Cohen lived next door to me my whole life, causing our parents to be extremely close. In fact, our dads worked together and also shared the same name. It was as if we were meant to be. Or so I thought.
Aspen Jones only had one boyfriend her whole life: Cohen Jacobs. Ever since they were little kids they were inseparable. As they grew older, their friends teased them over how in love they were. When they reached age sixteen, they decided to date. They seemed like the perfect couple. They were crazy about each other and were so close, it seemed as if nothing could go wrong.
It was at Aspen and Cohen’s friend’s wedding they had decided to take a break from their twelve year journey of love and passion. Cohen decides that over the summer they should hold off their relationship and try out their options, and if they don’t find anything else they want, then they’ll know their meant to be together. Aspen is heartbroken, realizing that all she ever thought about was her and Cohen’s future together.
Luckily Aspen has River: Her and Cohen’s friend from high school who she is extremely close to. River takes Aspen to London to try to help her forget about Cohen and have fun.
As the summer goes on, will Aspen get over Cohen? Will she realize there’s more out there? Will Cohen find someone else?
They always said, if you ever want something badly, let it go. If it comes back to you, then it's yours forever. If it doesn't, then it was never yours to begin with. I guess this was the theory Cohen and I were testing.
"I can't keep doing this," he said as he stopped and glanced back at me.
"You can't keep running either," I said loudly.
That made him turn and face me fully. "Me? I'm the one always running? What about you? You've ran how many times in the past? You've let everyone else control our relationship. Everyone but me!"
"You told me to leave you alone," I yelled. "You said you didn't want any of this anymore. You left the fucking country! You went and never even considered what that would do to me!"
"I lied too Louis! You hurt me and I wanted to hurt you back!" he yelled. "Maybe a friendship is out of the question. Our relationship is beyond repair. All we do is lie to each other." He turned to walk out again and he opened the door.
I rushed to him and reached for his arm. "Harry don't go please." I had never stopped him from leaving before. This time my heart wouldn't let me let him go. "You said you cared and you missed me too." I spoke in a low voice and used his own words against him. A low thing to do but I needed him to understand how much I was hurting.
Note: this is a story of pure fiction. If Harry and Louis are not be together in real life then, we as a fandom, have created a beautiful and tragic love story! I hope you enjoy my work. I put my heart in it. If you're not a Larry shipper don't read this. If you are then I hope you enjoy!!!
