Naruto's Pets

Naruto didn't consider himself lucky. He felt trapped in a little bowl- freedom just overhead, but he couldn't crawl out. He was constantly teased with what he should have: friends, parents, and a chore free AND obnoxious bird free life.
But no, it was what he had. A friendless, parent-less, chore loaded life, with an antagonizing bird. Several of them. And seven dogs, ten cats, thirteen parakeets, four ferrets, three rabbits, twenty goldfish, and eight turtles.
Oh, did he mention he had a pet shop? Well, he did- one with an absolutely brilliant name at that: "The Pet Depot". It was just The Home Depot, but it replaced 'home' with 'pet'. Naruto was confident he could have named it better, but he wasn't even able to share his grievances with the namers, since the namers were his parents. His very dead, six feet under parents.
He hated everything about the place, from very pets in it, to his grumpy godfather - Hiruzen- running the thing. Naruto knew it wouldn't last, and that was even considering Naruto didn't burn the place down with everything in it, including Hiruzen.
So, he began to take in consideration the other splendid gift his parents passed down to him. A raggedy old house. What to others was a run down, decaying house, was a new beginning for Naruto.
But, as Naruto bit off more than he could chew by owning the responsibility of repairing this house that lacked inhabitants for longer than he was alive, he also realized it was a scraggy old house, with not much of a new beginning.
That was because of a responsibility he was far too familiar with wormed its way onto his shoulders.

A pet.
