Change is an inevitable part of life, and for 8-year-old Josie, it has arrived unexpectedly and forcefully. Living in downtown London with her mother, Jane, Josie's world is turned upside down when her mother falls ill.
Forced to move in with her grandmother, Josie's life takes another unexpected turn when her mother tragically passes away from cancer. With her grandmother no longer able to care for her, Josie finds herself on a plane to her father's penthouse in New York, a man she has never met before.
This sudden upheaval leaves Josie feeling scared and nervous about what lies ahead.
Growing up, Josie knew she had a father, but the details surrounding his absence remained a mystery. As she embarks on the journey to meet him, along with the added surprise of meeting her siblings Joshua, Kassey, and Branson, Josie's anxiety intensifies.
She is left wondering why this sudden change has happened to her and why her mother, whom she loved dearly, is no longer by her side.
Change can be daunting, especially for a young child like Josie.
As Josie settles into her new life in New York, she begins to discover the love and support of her father and siblings.

Dahlia's childhood is shaped by love, loss, and self-discovery. Growing up in a once-happy home, she bonds deeply with her father, Bumpy, while facing the emotional turbulence of her mother, Akosa. From an early age, Dahlia realizes she's different-not just in her intelligence but in her emotions. Her first crush, Keziah, leaves her questioning herself when Keziah moves away. As she navigates adolescence, Dahlia witnesses the unraveling of her parents' marriage. Akosa brings men into their home, leading to an unexpected pregnancy. When the child is born, a DNA test confirms what Bumpy feared-the baby isn't his. Despite the betrayal, he raises the child as his own. Meanwhile, Dahlia is diagnosed with a heart condition, adding another layer of struggle to her already complicated life. Amidst the chaos, Dahlia and her siblings, Lucky and Talia, find solace in their bond. They transfer to an international school in Nakuru, but tragedy strikes when Lucky is killed in a road accident. Overwhelmed by grief, Dahlia and Talia relocate to their aunt's house in Mumias while their father remains in Eldoret. Life moves forward, the young child their mother left behind grows, and eventually, Dahlia completes high school and gets a boyfriend. Still undergoing treatment for her heart condition, Dahlia's life takes another turn when Bumpy, now focusing on his career, travels to Australia for business seminars. Dahlia and Talia enroll in separate universities, but Dahlia transfers to be closer to family. Meanwhile, Akosa has long since left for the USA. Years later, as Dahlia's uncle graduates in Nairobi, the family reunites, and fate brings an unexpected closure. Her father, Bumpy, returns from Australia, and in a twist of fate, meets a new woman-marking a fresh start after years of pain and endurance

I had everything. A wonderful mom (even though she wasn’t exactly a saint), a brother who cared, a boyfriend who cared, and fabulous friends. But then I witnessed something I should have never even known about, and my whole world turns upside down. I lost everything in minutes once the bad-guys figured out who I am. Well, who I was. I get put into witness-protection and things start to not look so bad anymore. Honestly, it didn’t. Not until they found me.
